A Picture Of You

A Picture Of You

If only I had a picture of you, then I'd really know,
what the future may hold in store, before you go;
they never told me what I had to do to keep going,
only, 'she's like the wind,' and just keeps moving.

You see, that picture is not a photograph, a portrait
of what you may and may not do while I just wait;
I am equipped to deal with unseen forces, loving,
only, 'she's like the wind,' and just keeps moving.

I see the 'lips together' smile, it has reservations,
about how easy to make it for me, my limitations;
no matter, I carried her around for ten years, loving,
only, 'she's like the wind,' and just keeps moving.

Now I do have a nice picture on the wall but I'm gone,
you can see how lovely she looked when it was done.
