A POET'S NIGHTMARE

In want of sleep

A POET'S NIGHTMARE

How can I turn off
The reservoir of thoughts
That overflows into my nights sleep

My mind wants to rest
But visions and dreams
Burst at the seams
Causing my sleep to weep

Bits and pieces
Of sentences unhinged
Ricochet off the walls of my mind
I fight against this invasion of rest
But my eyes soon complies

As an artist with each stroke
I in vision and masterpiece
But I should be able to choose
The time and place

How I wish that someone
Would hear my cry
And rescue me
From this poet's nightmare.

Hello Yiyan Han.
Thank you so much for your comments and encouragement on this matter.
At times I seek to write something in my spare time, but my mind is blank... then next time, I just can't seem to shut the flow down or off. Stealing my sleep from my eyes.. lol.
I have to keep my iPad on and ready to go in a sec. Cos quite a few of my poems I recive in forms of dreams.. word for word.
Kinda funny.. but for real.
Thanks again for stopping by Yiyan.

A desperate plea and nightmare side be side wrapped together and an open ended conclusion for kismet to decide.
Enjoyed very much reading your well written poem Wilford and thank you for sharing and full honours bestowed.
