It is far into a poet's passion
Through years, tears, torments and lacerations
Ripping through to hidden wounds and conflagration
Where laying in depths of puddled introspection
Swim languages and books of unwritten reflection
With piles of rejection, conjecture, and daring direction
Where the ego goes to play with a whisper's deafening silence
And shyness tortured into arrogant attempts at greatness
For it is indeed within the nuances of a poet's passion
To push creativity to the brink of insanity's attraction
As songs come floating in on rainbows of light's refraction
And poetry becomes the only means of self-expression's voicing
Rejoicing ever-so-subtly in observations overflowing and forcing
The Poet's Pen to take truly inspired action
To take that which confronts him
And deliver it most mightily
Hand-in-hand,
With the greatest gift,
The universe has to offer,
A Poet's Passion....
