A SOLDERS CHRISTMAS LETTER HOME

Dear mom and dad
I got your last letter
the cookies were great
its 1130 pm Christmas eve
The moon and the stars
are bright the war rages
on, I lived another day I
don't have much say but
I love you and miss you both
I sit here thinking about my life
the way it was I miss my bed
as I sit here in foxhole the war
has changed me I was boy
when I left home I have seen
so much death it changes you
and how you look at life
I hope I come home soon ether way
thanks for telling me about my girl
I hope she will wait for me I miss my dog
I miss my way life the way it was
well its 1202 am christmas day
its time try and get some sleep
your ever love son

You're welcome, Gregor. Thank you for putting some pieces of life in perspective. Sometimes we forget what others are doing for us, and the things they have to endure, and it's nice that you pointed that out.
I can believe it came to you because you're a good person, and a caring one.
Have a great Christmas!
M.

Sometimes we live our lives losing any sort of connection with the past..somehow we forget that these young men were just the same as our young men of today...sons, husbands, fathers..just ordinary lads doing an extraordinary job..It's good to be reminded that these were real people who lived and loved just as we all do now. Great poem Greg!

Hello brother poet Mr Greg Etsell ??happy holidays to you and your family.
this is a beautifull poetic letter that let me see very strong images. But I could only imagen how it can feel. Muy respects to every single soldier and what they endure. Those things that can't be thought. All heart! . Very beautiful piece sr.
