A Son and Wife's Betrayal

A fictional poem about betrayal

All my lousy son cared about was getting laid.
I had to pick up the pieces after I was betrayed.
I should've known something was wrong because of how they looked at each other.
After being a good father to the punk, he ran off with his stepmother.
I was devastated and I had to nurse a broken heart.

I had a nervous breakdown after my life fell apart.
One year later, they spent all of their money and were broke.
What they did next was unbelievable and it was not a joke.
Because they were broke, they asked if they could return to my house.
My son thought I shouldn't be upset because he ran off with my spouse.
They thought I was bluffing when I said that I would have them arrested if they didn't leave.
They went to jail for trespassing, they were shocked, it was something they couldn't believe.
I may forgive them in the future but I'm not yet able to forgive and forget.
I had both of them put behind bars and it sure isn't something that I regret.
You may be thinking that I'm a harsh man because of what I did.
But you might do the same if your spouse runs off with your kid.
