A Summers Midnight Walk

Alone at night on a peaceful stroll
I can relax and smell the flowers, and
Feel the cool breeze pass by my face
And flap the leaves of trees 'mid the night sounds
On a summer's walk at midnight.
Under the clouds or a bright, full moon
There is time to tend something and to see
How mine and neighbors gardens have progressed
Or who has planted a pretty new tree
On a midnight summer's walk.
Steps in time, when I cannot sleep,
Proper moments calm to center from the day,
Look about in the quiet sounds
In streetlight shadows imaging pains away
On a walk in the dark of a summer's night.
In the quiet time of night one can entrance the soul
Looking from the shadows to the stars.
The mind can slow to cricket sounds,
And op the heart to creative thought
'Mid footfalls of a summer's midnight
walk
