A Sweet Release

In your heavenly glades
I felt myself mingle with the sunlight
That shone down
to softly bathe
your verdant brow
How the air felt so invigorating against my skin
I was akin with your charms
As we dwelled within each other’s natural balms
Lingering between what had been
such a peaceful dawn
To now mourn the sun
But hail the moon
Where dreams complete
the me
the you
Through wishes held high
in the glistening droplets
of that gemstone sky
And I...feel ready
to let my soul drift
To shift
To fly...
Whilst I permit my flesh to die

Such a soulful write Gwen
'Through wishes held high
in the glistening droplets
of that gemstone sky'
these lines speak to me of an ache that never ever leaves, an utterly private agonising pain that can make life seem at times unbearable.
utterly beautiful ❤
Thanks my friend, I always look forward to your insight on my work. You never fail to dig beautifully deep. I love that about you 💗 xx
Yee ha.
Yeah.
True spoken words, that linger. whilst I permit my flesh to die, mentality this is difficult for the soul to do, as grows fond of the wrapper it was born into.
Great poem about release, made me think of releasing a few lingering things of my own.
So thank you.
Release, release my friend. And I hope you feel good for it 💗 Thank you for your wonderful wise words on this piece. Always such a pleasure to read you x
Will do as the left unsaid can leave you feeling emotionally dead.
Thank you very much for the courage that you exude.
Yep .. quite beautiful & with a most unexpected ending .. although I can not explain why I found it so .. I shall have to pop back later, just to check and maybe satisfy my curiosity ................................ Nevertheless, Neville enjoyed 'A Sweet Release' ... Heck, maybe I should have guessed .. Doh x
p.s what I meant too say was that on my subsequent visit & further reflection, it hit me .. and not surprisingly, it ended perfectly x
Aaah my friend. Many many thanks for stopping by a second time and for sharing with me your honest thoughts.
I was deeply thinking at the time, on how the physical body returns to the earth. I started writing about releasing the flesh to the earth and finding peace on leaving the body behind. So this is the moment where you feel your physical side connecting back to nature. Whilst your spirit lifts to the universe itself. Hope I make sense 🙃 x
Perfect sense x
The physical world meets the spiritual world and of both outcomes good arises.
Beautiful, beautiful writing here on display Gwen and captivating to journey on your poetry plane.
Every poem you write has that essence of Gwen feel to it, I believe many on here would know it's one of yours, without your name attached.
For each is an original theme every time.
Thanks for sharing and especially the beautiful journey.
