A Trip Down Memory Lane

A Trip Down Memory Lane

Yesterday, I had some time to kill, before meeting with a client I had to see;
So I took “A Trip Down Memory Lane”, as raw emotions enveloped me!
I went back to see the apartment, that almost seven decades ago was my home;
A little guy, just five years old, and the neighborhood I roamed!
.
It brought back such vivid memories, of my younger boyhood years;
Remembering all my long-lost friends, it also brought some tears!
For it felt like it was yesterday, that I was an inquisitive little lad;
And all my important questions, were answered by Mom and Dad!
.
For a while there , I lost myself, I relived my joyous past;
But life’s illusions are so short-lived, not long enough they last!
Too soon I returned to reality, the “young lad” now seventy-four;
In the final stages of his life, with losses, so hard endure!
.
.
Today I went back
A trip down memory lane
I was young again

Memories can make us laugh or cry, happy or sad...I am glad yours were joyous memories. My Sweet Daddio is 72 and has gone through a lot and is still as strong as ever. I pray to grow old like you one day as I still have a very long way to go.

My love to Linda

Love you both dearly.

My Dear Sweet Rose,

Actually, your Sweet Daddio will be 75 on July 20th.  I pray you will grow old as I have, still retaining your youth.  Cherish every day, because when you do become a Golden Ager, you look back on your life, and wonder how it passed by so quickly.

All my love,
Daddio xxx
