ACCEPTANCE

I couldn't wrap my mind around
Or even begin to understand
Why would I want to accept, embrace
What can never be disband?
It was when I learned to accept
That things are what they are
That pain is a condition of existence
And sometimes you have to lower the bar
My eyes became wide open
All at once, I began to see
I may never find a way out of all this
But acceptance is the only key
It disentangled my feelings
It put my heart and mind at ease
When I learned to stop fighting
The pain of my mental disease
Acceptance turned my chaos
Into something I could understand
Acceptance kept me grounded
When my emotions had the upper hand
There will always be some kind of struggle
As my mind and emotions fight
But acceptance gave me the power
To keep looking for some light
