Poem -

acorn

I've been plowing around you for 20 yr

how long have you been standing there

100 years 1000 years that 10 time my lifetime

you stand so tall your limbs so broad

branches covered with those dark green leaves

how many time have i stood under you for cool

shade or had my lunch under your strong branches

I can't count the times it has been a very long time

for me a short  time  in your life

the beauty of you standing there minding time

I pondered chopping you down to build a barn

but with you my friend I could not bring myself to do it

I would lose too much  my old friend

            thank you old oak tree
