Adele Latour

When I was a senior in high school, back in nineteen sixty-two;
Most of us had fake identification, with an age that was not true!
They all said that we were eighteen, which got us into vast venues;
To visit “The Mayfair Burlesque House”, was our favorite thing to do!
But the women that performed there, were old with sagging breasts;
Yet the comedians were really funny, with them they’d always jest!
We went there to feel like “real” men, certainly not for erotic fare;
That the dancers looked more like grandmas, we really did not care!
But one day in the morning paper, the Mayfair ran an ad;
Adele Latour with the “million dollar tresses”, was coming to our pad!
It said her hair with Lloyd’s of London, was insured for a million bucks;
And she was only eighteen years old, I thought “Wow, am I in luck”!
I went down the night she opened, and waited anxiously;
She was the star and was the last act, which I could not wait to see!
At last the curtain went up, and there this “Goddess” stood;
With her hair her only costume, I was immediately with wood!
She was young and fresh and beautiful, she drove my hormones wild;
Without warning I came to my fruition, as she looked at me and smiled!
I went back to see her several more times, I think I was in love;
With Adele Latour and her million dollar tresses, sent down from stars above!

My Dear Sweet Rose,
The photograph we used for the illustration is actually Adele Latour. We pulled her up on Google and were amazed to see how many old photos they had of her. Yes, those were the days of young innocence, so different from teenagers today. Thank you for your lovely words.

My Dear Debs,
I'm so glad I could make you smile. My teenage years were some of the greatest of my life, and I am happy that I can recall them so vividly. The photo I used is actually one of Adele Latour that Linda found on Google. I guess you can see why I thought I was in love. Thank you for your lovely words.

My Dear Brother Poet LARRY!!
Your mind is filled with such colorful stories........ truly a cavalcade of memories you are creating here on COSMO.......... something to be proud of........a collection of wonderment at a life well lived for its free-spirited approach to life's hurdles.........some of them I will NEVER forget...... Add the "instant wood" created by ADELE LATOUR to the list....... oh...... and lets not ever forget the the one where the two of you are racing at high speeds across open country.......LOVE that story.......... proud to call you friend and colleague bro!!.........LOVE and ROCKETS!!......T xo ?✳✴☀
My Dear Brother Poet Tony,
Yes, these stories are still so vivid, from over a half century ago. You might label many of them "A cavalcade of indoor sports" Ha, Ha! I am so proud that you will always have "instant recollection" of my "instant wood" created by Adele Latour. Also, I am so glad you like the story about my old friend Norman's and my world record time drive from Dayton Ohio to Philadelphia on Christmas Day 1963, as we raced with heavy feet and throbbing manhoods, thinking of the hot girls that were waiting there for us. It is my honor also to call you friend and fellow poet. Your lovely words always bring happiness to my heart.
Peace, Love and Rockets,
Larry xxx
Very forthright I love it
Dear Ben,
.
You say my poem was very forthright
Because I went back and forth all night
My hands did their job
On my protruding knob
For this Goddess was so out of sight
.
Peace and Love,
Larry xxx
