Adios My Angel

Adios my sweet angel, it’s time for you to leave;

If only I had not to do this; if only I had not to grieve!

But your Doctors said your time has come, that we have to say “goodbye”;

I don’t know how I’ll do this, all I do is cry!

I’ve made a few appointments, but the day before I’ll call;

I’ll say “I need a bit more time”, to love, before you fall!

I pray for miracles to save you, I’d wake and you’d be well;

But sadly it does not happen; please save me from this hell!

I look into your pleading eyes, they tell me you have pain;

The teardrops then in mine begin, they’re like the pouring rain!

I pick you up and hold you, you whimper and you sob;

I curse the fates for doing this, the time that we’ve been robbed!

With my heart torn so wide open, I hear an angels’ voice;

It tells me it’s time to end your misery; I make that awful choice!

I hold you in my shaking arms, as you gently go to sleep;

I whisper “adios my sweet angel”, I pray your soul He’ll keep!
