Affliction

Affliction

Solstice plague malady pox
Upon naive fauna phlox
Lackluster assured affliction
Autumn tis seasonal transition

Ginger blemish upon green
Abscond estival serene
Fading withered athirst
Gaia hasn’t doled her worst

Cast parched remnants abed
Alabaster embrace damage bled
Upon unyielding ground
Hushed tis beauty found

North winds artic laughter
Torpid tis balmy e’erafter
Along shores waters still
Lulled by frosty abrasive chill

Praise be gently sighed
Returns via changing tide
Fervor rises once more
Spring sows festive encore

as a rule, I dont tend to read any of the comments left by my reviewing predecessors .. but on this occasion, I inadvertently noticed that our Marion referred to you as Lisa .. which is a name I like and fits comfortably in my minds eye imaginings of the poetess that writes such captivating poetry ..Β

and even with my most picky hat on, I can not fault this page or its contents one little bit ..Β  the image used of dead and or dying leaves mid fall is perfect, as is the title you have chosen .. and each of your five perfectly formed four lined stanzas not only look aesthetically spot on, but additionally sound good when I read them through in my head and aloud ..Β

an impressive bit of poeming m'lady .. NevilleΒ
