After The Movies

After The Movies

After the movie
we sat thereĀ
in the dark.
His arm
around my shoulderĀ
and my head
gently resting on

The car window
as he drove me home.
The silence was
deafening.
I reached over
to turn on the radio.
I needed
to get rid of the
silence
I needed

Silence.
There are so many people yelling.
I can't think.
Can't move.
Why can't IĀ
move my legs?
Where are all of these
bright lights
coming from
why

Are you here.
I told you
I wanted to be alone.
Don't worry about me.
I'm fine.
