Afterlife

Afterlife

Immeasurable aeons
wisdom cannot rust
in pools of corrosive ignorance
Is it not in essence vanity
to consume all our hearts desire?
Or perhaps foolish to blindly followΒ 
aversion?
I carry fear and cowardice
with my left arm
as you confidently cradle a weapon in your right
Solitude welcomes me home
stardust infernal delight

The ancients they shadowed theΒ 
chosen ones out of anger
and spit their bile at the sun
Whilst mocking the fallenΒ 
idolater
for not believing in One
Oh mercy,
dispel my honourΒ 
in my darkest hour
above the platitude of youth
who bemoan cries of endless suffering
Rapturous within the cities ruins
Am I too proud to be enslaved
by this pitiful life?
Or do I hunger for more in the
Afterlife
