Poem -

Aftermath

Darkness spreads across the sky brush stroke by brush stroke,

Like ink leaking into paper in macerates every fibre, seeping into every sinew and strand.

clouds fill up with tears once more ready to pour to empty fields, torrents of muddy water washing across roads carrying the weight of debris

tiny diamonds remain dashed and divided above
scattered across an ocean darker than a ravens wing

They luster of ivory and pearl
screaming silver against the night
an electric pallor of white light

glittering fragments of shattered glass laying broken and abandoned, waiting for the sun to rise
