AFTERWARDS

AFTERWARDS

I can look down on all beautiful things below,
and then give a smile while polishing my halo;
I'll be returning soon to help out with Ukraine,
to stop that wretched war and take away their pain.

I'm sorry that I didn't have time to mow the lawn,
I'll send along an angel on a bright summer morn;
don't forget to cancel my mobile phone subscription,
otherwise it will carry on and never stop ringing.

Did those sneaky life insurance people pay out?
If not, I'll send them a devil with a nasty shout;
remember our dog likes grey biscuits, not red ones,
don't turn your back on him in case he bites your nylons.

Count sheep if you can't sleep, that picture on the wall,
and remember our old days when we hardly slept at all.
