Poem -

Ageless

The freshness of loves first kiss
Dwindles with the setting sun
As with everything in this world
Nothing is to last forever

Even the red oaks gracefully tall
Are confounded when faced
With the ages of the world
And they too shall fall

Nothing is to last forever
Apart from the beauty of words
From cuneiform to hyroglyphics
Each word is ageless

Words do not die my friends
They adapt, change
With each passing year
Still! Giving life meaning

Each line I write
Is a gift, a portrait
Of a world that's dying
An immeasurable eulogy

Each word is a gift
Each word is a balm

May they soothe you all
