Alarm

Tick, tick, tick, tick
the bomb's waiting to blow.
When and how it will explode
I can't say that IĀ know.
What IĀ do know is that it threatens to destroy this place;
all the survivors living here,
oh, each and every race.

Tick, tick, tick, tick
I'll scramble on in fear.
Will it blank out my memory
of all that's happened here?
Will IĀ go on, a bleached out soul?
Will IĀ go on at all?
I can't imagine that I'd take
the reaper's silent call.

Tick, tick, tick, tick,
the hour's closer now.
I stand on my mind's stage and take
the curtain closing bow,
and then IĀ hear theĀ panicĀ set,
the beeping sirens scream,
and open up my eyes to find
that it was allĀ a dream.
