We Are

We Are
We are the “bad” kids;
The ones with drug habits and poor grades,
The dropouts and the losers,
The pregnant teens and the non-conformists.
We are the “nothings;”
The kids who don’t know where they’re going
With no job and no school
Who have yet to figure out our aspirations or goals.
We are the “floaters”
Who don’t have a group to identify with or a place to call home;
We aren't preps, but we’re not Goths;
We’re a little lost, but we answer to no one.
And then again…
We are the Free;
The ones who make time for friendships and draw pointless pictures,
Those who play dress up and write poetry,
The never-get-olds, and the never-die-youngs.Â

this is absolutely fabulous. I really appreciate the content.
thanks a bunch. I identify with "bad kids" pretty well because I swapped high school for a GED earlier this (my junior) year, but I take pride in my non-conformity.
Love it Anna..absolute pleasure to read something real...
