Alberich: Light & Dark

Alberich: Light & Dark

They now make love beneath a dancing star
Then bask (encircled) on the flame-ringed height.

A creature lurks and nurtures envies (dark)
in growing shadows of the dimming light.
Tormented by an undernourished yearn
Unmet by yearnings of love’s cradling thrill
His mind (corrupt ~ unsated) grimly turns
To dominate (if not by strength) by will.
For in such cold negations ~ Power lies
And seeks to quell an unrelenting surge
It craves a vast dominion and denies
the need to answer life’s ungoverned urge.
To curb and stem the river’s laughing flood
A course is set to dam the Völsung’s blood.

Brilliant of course, I love the turn from love to such darkness in this, the whole demeanor of the story changes, It's a gripping tale

Every story needs a villain. Every protagonist needs an antagonist. And everything written about something...if it's done right...is about something else.

Thank you, my darling.

All mine too,
