Alienated Woman

Alienated Woman

A lost, alienated womanΒ
Cannot be touchedΒ
Bother her by askingΒ
a simple question that she knows
you know the answer to

Anger her by attempting to engageΒ
conversation
As light as it may be
Giving her sorry won’t save
As she makes you a harlequin knave
Just as she made me one

For I’m the one that set her off
Like a time-bomb that I builtΒ
From breaking promises and never
admitting guilt
My sorry came too late
Now she walks in limbo

An alienated woman

A special treasure trove
Gems in her cold eyes
Her love is an alcove
In a heart that lies

Deep in cryostasis
Waiting to be discovered
