All i ever wanted for you
was to dance in the light
To err from the darkness
your life seeming, a forever night
I tried to save you,
but really you did nt want to be saved
I was suckered into your web of lies
twas that darkness. you craved
My belief in you was true
born out of love I defended your name
I run myself ragged
only for you to bring me shame
I feel such a fool thinking you
would change,for your own good
I just wanted you to be respectable
and I believed you could
Now i just cant help but feel used
and my heart is in pain
You know I tried we all did
but you hurt us,your family again
I will always have love for you
but for now I need distance to heal
I hope you realize some day
what you have done, and how we feel
All I ever wanted for you, was to dance in the light
you choose to live in darkness,you choose the forever night

Hello Debs, a very well said write which Im sure was hard to do.....sounds like someone battling addiction who is close to you, that is so tough because you want nothing in the world but to help them and ypu go anove and beyond with this notion that you can but the hard truth of it is, that you can't help someone who doesn't want to be helped they have to help themselves. Definitely a very tough situation, but I love the way you conveyed it. Peace to you.

it helps so much to write it out The story is a sad one, and I agree with your words

My Dear Debs,
The pain of finally realizing, after exhausting every avenue of help possible, that you must cut loose of a loved one, is excruciating.
But all of a sudden, you realize that your love is unreciprocated, and used only as a weapon against you.
I feel your pain and your sorrow.
But sometimes, "The Prince of Darkness", wins out.
