All On My Own

Sometimes I just want to be
All on my own
And shut out the pressures of life
Shut out all the intrusions
Pressures and demands
And push away day to day strife.
 
Listen to music, read a good book
In the seclusion that I call my home
Look out the window
Write some new lines
Calm because I’m all alone.
 
Sometimes it is good
To take a break from the World,
Breaking news and constant WiFi
Twitter and Facebook are all very well
But I like sometimes to get off the ride.
