All That Remains

The turmoil the bain, of parallel lives,
Self destruction inconvenient, forever mis-timed,
An appointment to vent, must fall within reason,
The rain in the summer, the Sunday night feeling,

A nod to the neighbour, greeting the morning,
Becomes paranoia, if eyes are not met,
Pictures in mind, of scenarios conjured,
A reminder of loss, where none need reminding,

Residing in darkness, immersed in false guilt,
Searching in earnest, ignoring all guidance, 
Trust in the judging, no longer cemented,
For the truth must live, in the mind of the accuser,

A questioning mind thinking, it has only been humoured,
The mirror confirms, gut feeling mistrusting,
A soul lies defeated, dismissing all reason,
Self reflection finding, no true solution,

Destruction unwinding, in mind's retribution,
A social chameleon, a conscience immune,
The truth lies in answer, to question yourself,
All that remains, hidden from view.
