All The Perceptions Of Greatness

All The Perceptions Of Greatness

Whenever you recall a time we shared eons ago that
I swore I held tight, or you showing me those pictures
we smiled so easily,
I feel like a fool to forget
The sweet days that defined me.
But I can't bear the baggage anymore

So let such ordeal cease but in consequence the good must too.
Both weigh heavy,
all the souvenirs that provide warmth and solace.
You need to go too.

This town is getting smaller yet nothing is near,
Grown so frail and dim, my eyes ponder on why
It's all so forced.
Pictures hung to conjure what once was
and now is not.
Nothing will guide me to move from
the comfort of what I know,
but myself.

Turn on the screen, lean forward with eyes sore
Thoughts melt and my sense of time distorts.

My mouth gets dry
when the topic arises.
Soft as you are,
it would cut me apart...
