Almost

I have loved him over lifetimes,
That's what makes this all so tough;
I guess we never have been good
At all this 'soul mate' stuff.

We've chased eachother tirelessly,
Yet still can't seem to cuff;
So we remain an 'almost'
But almost will never be enough.
