Always on My Mind

The train whistle sounds out the days of Santa Fe
Chicago, Burlington, and Quincy, the CB&Q, let history begin along the railway
Now Burlington Northern, Santa Fe, BNSF, at last a united team, what a great site
Up the hill, down the hill, through the mountains, and below the underpass, and turnpike
The engineer waves as though we've known each other for all time
Family roots, wearing conductor's hats, traveling afar on another vacation
As the years pass, the train track lives on, carrying passengers, and freight, a mission with a cause, gives me a great sensation
There's no real explanation how much I love these dear old trains, they make my heart climb
My favorite way to travel, now get me a ticket today, for today and tomorrow, trains will stay always on my mind
Let the trains of yesterday, the steamer's so unique, never die, never go away, let them go
As the whistle blows, know that Dina's in the kitchen, while someone's playing that ole banjo
Trains will remain today, and forever, always on my mind
