Always A Mystery

When writing poetry
One never knows
If our words inspire
Does the rhythm flow

Are the readers touched
By each simple phrase
Do they understand
Does it conjure up praise

Always a mystery
The nature of impact
To our heartfelt rhymes
How people react

All we can hope for
To instil an emotion
Touch each heart
With love's sweet potion

Couldn't imagine
A day without verse
A day without sunshine
There's nothing worse
