Am I cupid?

Am I cupid?

Am I cupid?
I watch everyone as they all fall in love
Living that sweet teenage love
They come to me with relationship advice as if I was cupid
But how would I know?
The closest I've ever been to love was watching all these romance shows
To feel this desperate connection
Or all these one-sided crushes for people who never felt the way I do
All I am is the funny friend, the artistic friend or the parent friend
Never more but sometimes even less than that
But oh what I would do for someone to love me the same way that I do
Rip out my heart for all I care, it will still overflow with love that no one wants
But then again, maybe I am cupid
Maybe I was destined to watch people fall in love rather than be loved myself?
That's right
I am cupid
I am the third person that tells the love story from afar

Mate. Standing ovation. I see a bit of myself in this. Inspirational, surely you have been writing poetry for a while? This is no newcomers debut. Outstanding.

Thank you so much, I haven't been on here for a while so seeing this comment made me happy. I've been working on some poem drafts so I got more incoming soon. Generally speaking though I've been writing stories since junior high but I started casually writing poetry towards the end of it. I generallly love finding poetic things in every aspect of life whether it is sad or happy. I spent a lot of time observing people and emotions so usually when I write poems, they are filled with deep and strong emotions.
