An Alcoholic's Prayer

With drink in my hand,
I pray this my last,
For this isn't best,
So grace, I do ask.
My weakness is real,
But still you I hold,
For you will not leave,
And freedom to hope.
Your presence, I feel,
Each time that I fall,
As you lift me up,
My God that I call.
Remember my love,
The days we have shared,
And cover with mercy,
As this wipes despair.
