An Introvert Looking in a Mirror

An Introvert Looking in a Mirror

Sometimes as an introvert, lost in thought,
I look at myself in the mirror
Feeling some sympathy for the one looking at me
He is both a saint and a sinner.
Β
He knows exactly how I feel
And agrees with what I say,
He’s a true reflection of
The person that I’ve become
Β
He judges me only insofar
As I judge myself
When we’re together we are the only ones
Who know how the other one feels
Β
We can be critical of ourselves
And ponder and think of how
We could perhaps be better:
I see his blemishes; he sees mine
Β
So it seems,
And although he could write me a letter
Saying β€œThis is how you’ve gone wrong”
He just smiles when I smile at him
Β
So I can walk away feeling hopeful:
For I’ve not been judged
For any action, misdemeanour
Or sin.Β  Just learning from what I’ve said
And what I’ve done
Β
My reflection; myself:Β  When all is said and done
We are one.
