Poem -

An open letter to Aung San Suu Kyi

I wrote letters for you.
Now I write to the woman who's words spoke
of freedom from fear.

You left the silence of imprisonment
wearing a shining cloak of hope.
Silent inaction now is shameful
in Rohingya blood the cloak is soaked

Can you who know the beautiful power of words
on this disgrace stay mute?

I have read your books
it is that woman that I beg.
Please be the woman I believed you to be.

Every human has the right to live with Freedom from Fear
for all gods sake
act.
