An Unchartered Fear!

An Unchartered Fear!

I'm starting to realise the characteristics once desiredΒ
for surviving Wars where bullets and bombs were fired
To have lived freedom fear years felt cosy and secure
sure I'd be alive tomorrow with no minuscule doubt to endure
And yet as now a new enemy has appeared
threatening and potentially deadly to many it's afearedΒ
It wears no uniform or carries a big gun
though its ability to kill as perilously begun
It's hard to stand up to, invisible and cunning
multiplying in throats and on surfaces a nemesis outrunning
To then realise my cowardice is growing by the hour
as to win this foe seems near completely out my power
A once mantra to keep calm and carry on
now it seems our lives to be on hold for however long
Of course we must listen to the experts in the field
cross all hearts and fingers that to destruction we won't yield
As for the human race let's not afford another minus
May our planet gets its act together and once for all

Nine Eleven

This situation we are in feels very surreal, my anxiety is through the roof, our government here in Ireland have just announced all schools and creches to close, everything is off, personally I think that everyone should be told to stay in there homes. What I thought was very weird about all this, remember all the talk about Brexit, the impact it would have on us, on the economy, all the big suppliers were told to store extra stock but I can't even remember the day Brexit happened, what actually happened, nothing, absolutely nothing, and now, the government is telling the people not to panic buy because the shops have extra stock due to Brexit, the government has money set aside incase of Brexit but now they are using " that emergency money" for this virus.

Anyway, sorry for the rant, great poem Wendy.
