Angel of Mercy
Just like an angel of mercy in the dark of night
Took the darkness and shone your halo light
　
My passion simply passes with the sands of time
Time has come to claim all lost that is still mine
　
Am I just a simple pawn in a gold gilded cage?
I could use the wisdom of an all knowing sage
　
A mosaic of leaves now cover the ground
I search for love but it’s nowhere to be found
　
I search my heart and search my soul
In the midnight hour I hear the bells toll
　
I feel just like I’m on an endless journey all alone
Ghosts of the past now inhabit my once peaceful home
　
Wish there was a road to drive away from my past
Why does it seem it’s always the bitterness that lasts?
　
Black clouds cover both my day and my night
And yet I pray religiously by burning candlelight
　
Angel of mercy please shelter me from the snow and rain
And will you bandage my broken heart’s undying pain
　
Will you shine your light in all of the dark places?
Enabling me to freely run in wide open spaces
　
Breathe your sacred love into my broken heart?
Allowing a brand new fire of passion to start
　
Will you lay before me a brand new golden path?
Let me walk in faith never again looking back
　
Will you keep death from knocking on my door?
Let me feel the way I did in the good years before
　
One day the sun shall come shining down upon me
And I’ll rid myself of chains and walk forever free
