ANGEL'S BREATH

ANGEL'S BREATH

The brutal awakening to the fragility of life
Shakes the delicate lightness of being
At the time life was dancing with glee and was dancing with grace.
The dance will not stop for long nor will life’s embrace
As I feel her around me… beating, pulsing, and beaming
Neither slow nor running, passing through the earth’s veins.
And I walk, not in haste, but in hope
Listening to her whisper and her calling.
I do not see dark clouds lurking to cover the sun,
As I choose to see light!
When the last rays of light give away
And the night pillows my head offering comfort and owe,
I shall again awake to life
And take her to my lips like the breath of an angel,
                                                           Enchanting and wooing.
