Another Year

I see the light reflecting in your eyes
Could your prayer have heavenly ties?
　
You pray for a light in the darkness
An end to all of the cold and starkness
　
You pray for happiness despite it all
Fearful that you’re headed for a fall
　
Lately life has been a series of unfortunate events
You pray that all of your wishes are heaven sent
　
You are so much more to me than flesh and bone
May our lord bless you and our humble home?
　
Another year of heartache has slipped by
Quietly, alone you hang your head to cry
　
As you retrace all of the quickly passing years
You don’t want to become victim to your fears
　
Seems you’ve been on an endless search for love
You pray for your acceptance to our Lord above
　
You feel the passing time is no longer on your side
And it is on the wild waves of a tsunami that you ride
　
Remember that you are loved and don’t ever forget
Please don’t travel down the path of past regrets
　
May the Holy Spirit shine a heavenly light?
That shines through even your darkest night
　
You’ve been hoping for love and other beautiful things
May the heavenly angel spread his glorious wings?
　
Won’t you try to find your own place in the sun?
Everyday day should be an adventure just begun
　
I pray that you live a life that dreams are made of
On a sacred journey of peace, happiness and love
