Answer to life

When my time finally comes around
And heaven in the distance is all I see
I will remember all those good times
And the day when love did find me
The day was just like any other day
The sun was shining brightly in the sky
And across that sky without a cloud
It was an airplane that did fly
But when I stand before the master
I will tell him everything including this
That life goes by in the blink of an eye
Faster than an evening moonlight kiss
But as I gaze and ponder into the distance
I will say, “But thank you for making her my wife”
"Because even if I forgot your question
When I was with her I found the answer to life"

They tell you this and they tell you that
And you see it every day and night on TV
That the road to fame fortune and excess
Is the only road that will make you happy
But as I sit alone in my rocking chair
With nobody else but me and myself
I wonder if they ever did understand
The toll those dreams took on my health
Then the doors and the windows fly open
With a voice saying, “I will not hurt you”
“Just walk into the light and to my arms
And I will take you home and to heaven too”
And at that moment I will remember your smile
A memory that will pierce my heart like a knife
But I will tell that angel, “A loved one by your side
Is the only reason for living and the answer to life"

Once upon a time I was just a little boy
Lost within my mind and my skeletal frame
Afraid of the dark and afraid of my shadow
And whenever somebody would call my name
But many days, months and years I have spent
In the darkness harnessing my inner beast
Always hoping that I would find a way out
Or answers to my prayers at the very least
But now when I am running from the devil
With my lungs gasping for air under that sun
I will stop when I can’t climb that hill anymore
But as I stop there is only me and not anyone
Then I will turn around and see the beauty
That is Mother Nature as it relieves me of my strife
Then I will ponder the questions of the universe
Only knowing that you were my only answer to life
