Apricot Flowers

Apricot Flowers

Could have been a dream line
A time when apricot flowers smiled
And all the signs of dying lay still
In a casketed, sublime, rain
Making tears on the windows
And false kings never noticing
That the time was perfect
--------------------------------------
Could have been an escape pod
Riding the dream-line to God
Burning a golden trail across time
And into the nervous system of rhyme
Making a mockery of meter
And simpletons of molded minds
Never mind the men in armor
---------------------------------------
What is it really
An experience, a day, to wonder why
An honest phrase, a life,
A dimming light
---------------------------------------
Could have been a dream line
A time
Where all the signs of dying lay still
In a casketed, sublime, rain
----------------------------------------
I wonder why
I wonder what it could have been
A time
When apricot flowers
Smiled?

Smiled to my divine bride. I'm drunk right now, I returned from the pub and I'm real as I could ever be. I can't grasp your educated mind but I love to read aloud your poetry, to learn from you and hopefully inspire others. Thank you for sharing Tony.

Hi Tony, as Gerard said above...I also struggle to grasp your educated mind sometimes, but I loved these lines

Could have been an escape pod
Riding the dream-line to God
Burning a golden trail across time
And into the nervous system of rhyme

The nervous system of rhyme! Wow! I wish I'd thought of this line first and had the chance to use it in a poem lol.
Hope you're enjoying the Easter weekend.

Take care - Syd xo

YAY!! SYD!!...I'm so glad you caught this write....... and I find it VERY interesting that you pointed out that line in particular...... It's one of my favorite lines ever.....I actually wrote that entire stanza AROUND that line.... thinking about the connection between ' divine inspiration' and the course it travels from universal nothingness into the 'somethingness' of your pen!!....... still working on it...... I'll get it right eventually........ feel free to see where it might take you man..... just be sure to PM me so I can see what you've come up with....... apologies for the lateness of my reply .......took me a while to realize it was even here..... glad I checked!!.... Love to you and yours........thanx for this!!.....ttyl........T xo

My Dear Brother Poet Tony,

I float above my body
My Soul now unconfined
I search for my life's meaning
And what God has me consigned

Love you Bro,
