Are You That Man?

Who will help me get past a broken and bruised yesterday?

Sometimes the past is never that far away; that people lose their way.

If it is likely to be true, would you help me find my way;

By being around my tattered heart rate?

Are you that man to help me out?

Who would help me out by stopping me from running away like a wounded foe;

By waving a finger and tapping a toe?

Are you that man?

All I tried to do was to forget the past;

Which makes me so scared of moving on-

That I can barely go on to have the future that I always dreamed of.

Let me ask you one thing.

Are you that man?

Would you be able to hold my hand to help me with a forsaken past;

And teach me  to feel safe in the near future again?
