ARIEL'S FINAL JOURNEY ( SYLVIA PLATH'S FICTIONAL SUICIDE NOTE)

ARIEL'S FINAL JOURNEY ( SYLVIA PLATH'S FICTIONAL SUICIDE NOTE)

Before the Red Eye
Cauldron of morning
while
dark eye
berries
cast theirΒ
hooks
and Black Sweet Blood
Mouthful Shadows,
surround me,
Β I soar
As an Arrow
Into the Stasis
of the Night

Epiphany's Messenger
summons me
Declaring that my
Poetic Equestrian
ExcursionΒ
has abrubtly
Halted to an end

In hindsight
my life hasΒ
been ridden
like "Lady Godiva"
Bareback,
Naked,
Exposing
My mortal deformaties
For the Literary World
to see

Lack of Daddy's
Presence
has created
a leak
within this
vessel
preventing
any joy
or happinness
to permanentlyΒ
keep

Electroconvulsive
Therapy
Was ordered
To harness
My demons
The outcome
Though
HasΒ crippled
My physical well
Being
AndΒ  supressed
My creative expression

The Latter, I am
Unable to
ConcedeΒ
To

Therefore it
Is time for
this pen
to retire
And the terminal
Narrative to end

My Oven'sΒ
Gas Chambers
Hearkens me,
BeckoningΒ
To enter its'
Domain......

Maybe then
within
its'
warm
embrace
I will
FindΒ
Eternal peace.......

Greg I've kinda given up on trying to work out what criteria Cosmofunnel apply but this piece most definitely deserves recognition. Love it.

Nigel
i appreciate it. Β I think that if anything, I believe this poem should get eyes on it as I believe the substance is significant. Β This is more important really than winning a contest. The content of the message is very important to me
