As His Guitar Gently Weeps
With Jack Tomlinson

He sits in silence,Â
And plucks the strings,
Waits patiently for it to begin,
He gets lost in moment,
His dreams run away with him,
But if you were to see him,
Perhaps you’d see a college student,Â
Buried in debt,
But what you don’t see,
Is in the clay of stardom,Â
Are where his dreams are set.Â
Perhaps you’d see is a musician?
A rogue with a whisky stained teeth,
Who dabbles with drugs,Â
In his dorm beneath,
The tower block,Â
That touches the sky,
As he drifts away inÂ
This illegal high,Â
But for now,
He plays the guitar every night in bed,
Plays the music,
Bleeds out the lyrics from his head,
Blocks out the trauma,
Blocks out the pain,
From those that judged him,
Caused him pain,
One day he’ll be released from this cage,
He’d do absolutely anything,
To be like his heroes, oasis,Â
To be on the stage,
To perform with such beauty,
With such rage,
With all his strength he’ll take revenge,
On all those that that did him wrong,
As his guitar gently weeps,
He’ll sing his song,
But for now sits on his bed,
Plays his sad guitar,
Looks of the window,
Looks out at the stars.
