Asian Nymph in the Classical Garden

(Quote: “Waltz, nymph, for quick jigs vex Bud”)

A fountain she does gaily gallop round;

Cheerfully poised, birdlike, her figure climbs

On shoulders of an angel cherubin;

Her soft pajamas flutter on her limbs.

Her fingers pluck the softest of the plums,

From among tender branches and green leaves;

A dragonfly berates her in the eyes,

And trails away with buzzing in the eaves.

Her smiling lips bite soft the juicy plum.

With arms like wings extended she lets sway;

Her tears like dewdrops stream as, in the sky,

The sun descends to stain the night’s highway.

Her paranoia blending into words,

I see them leap onto the barren page;

As I ride off the highway heading home,

My lights swim, shine, blinking as a mirage.
