Assassin's Smile

Assassin's Smile

Upon the face a charming smile
beguiles the senses
tangles fragile wires
Confused transmitters
dance to and throw
between like and contempt
A fractious ego
jumps from a bridge
captured instantly
by a nail of survival
A wisp of selfishness
a saviour to intense
failure of capability
to function and sate
expectation
Is blissful ignorance
a ready excuse?
clinging at thought
helping un fuse
the approaching terminus
to settle once more
to a standard baseline
disappointment
Assassination complete
