A Flashback

 Year 1947,

A birth of a great nation;

A resurrection of millions;

To freedom, without shedding

A single drop of blood,

 Mahatma Gandhi to unfurl,

The first flag of Free India

in the city heart on the intervening

 Night of August 14 and 15.

The mid-night hours were precious

To millions of Indians,

 In Between the big and small needles,

In the gap of the minutes and

Within the hours of need

for a freedom, for a peace

1975

The birth of a great book;

 a book by Larry Collins and

Dominique Lapierre.

It describes the events

in the Indian independence

 movement  in 1947-48,

beginning with the appointment

of Lord Mountbatten of Burma

as the last viceroy of British India,

 and ending with the death and

 funeral of Mahatma Gandhi.

The Father of a nation- Great India

ABOUT AUGUST ANGELS: Effective from  August, this year, myself, Williamsji Maveli  and Honorable Poetess  Nardine Sanderson has come up with an idea of collaborate (co-writing) writing of verses in a mutual interest and good intention with a title " AUGUST ANGELS "    at our wonderful site COSMO.

Now, Poetess  Piusha Singh, Flower Girl, and Madonna Williams, were  also joined  with us with their golden pens. We welcome them to this co-writing experience.
