WILLIAMSJI MAVELI WRITES....
THE WILD DANCE

Oh, wind, humming a tune as you come...
Trees and vines dance along with you,
Green leaves tremble, dry leaves fall,
Barren branches rip and scatter.
Come dance, oh wind, come sing, oh wind,
While you play and sing,
You speed up, you spin around,
Wind, what are you doing?
The game is turning serious.
Along with the wind, raging and dancing,
Dark clouds joined in.
Flashes of lightning, roars of thunder,
And incessant rain arrived.
Mountain floods, landslides,
Echoes of the rain-cloud dance.
Rainwater, floodwater,
Overflowing their banks,
The river water, a flood.
Enough, my dear wind, my darling,
my desire is fulfilled.
Calm your rage and go back...
We can untie our hair and dance,
We can perform the rain dance,
We can chant mantras and praise.
Calm your rage, go back.
