Away For The Winter

If you go away on a summer's day, you might as well
take the sun away, maybe not - you never can tell;
we made love in the open, when there was a starry sky,
dappled moonlight and moving shadows went slowly by.
You brought the sunshine into the room like seasons,
nothing needed, all inbuilt, there were no reasons;
you were brown, not by sunlight but beauty forever,
we prioritise, unfazed, not with reliance on the weather.
I walked to the sea, ozone from the ocean giving mystery,
where would you be - residing in puff clouds beautifully;
as though always there, I had the time to stand and stare,
we lingered, when last was it that you didn't have a care?
Time moved on, fortune followed us wherever we may roam,
was it true - they said it was so much nicer to come home.
