Awe! Monterey

AWE! MONTEREY 

At eves array, gulls fly abreast
when shines the moonrise on the Bay.
Asleep, most dwellers like the rest
have called this place a pleasant stay.
 
A day just where there's everywhere
the sounds melodic to the ear,
and where there's none that can compare
to living where the ocean air
 
is pure to soul and mind. Here in this place,
with you the ocean waves at sea
are fantasies that you can trace
but can’t erase the memory.
 
When morning air fills surfer's lungs
and cresting waves are on the rise,
producing waves that speak in tongues,
the surfer surfs without surprise.

So far from hell this place you dwell
has all the wonders you can share
of sight and smell that's so tranquil
you'll find it all, so hard to bear.
