Poem -

Baby blue eyes...

Baby blue eyes...

Once tiny hands wrapped around my big fingers, oh how the new born smell still lingers,
I can still picture her, sucking her thumb as a baby,
I'm so proud, she's growing up to be such a beautiful lady,

I know it's confusing times,
A teenager with a troubled mind,
Dad is still here with arms out wide,
Because I still see your baby blue eyes...

Next year will be her prom, her sister can't wait to do her hair,
Sometimes I can be wrong, but I know a princess will be there,
You're not a girl who likes all the glitz and glammer, you've even asked to wear a leather jacket,
If this makes you feel a bit like yourself so you don't feel uncomfortable, I just might let you have it.

I know we have our debates and our up's and down's, things can get a little stressful,
Sometimes it's hard living with two female's, to treat you like women, I can get forgetful,
I know I'm not perfect, but my love for you is a forever,
I'm coming to terms with you growing up and not living together,

I know it's confusing times,
A teenager with a troubled mind,
Dad is still here with arms out wide,
Because I still see your baby blue eyes...

We've been like the three musketeers, thick as thieves,
I love talking about the future and fulfilling your dreams,
I hope you travel the world, meet different people, see different stars in different skies,
Live your life, tell me your stories, show me the photos because I'll see your baby blue eyes.

When it's time to come home...
Dad is still here with arms out wide,
Because I still see, your baby blue eyes.

Awwww!  She is beautiful, Wayne.  I know you are proud of both your daughters.  I can vouch as a parent of four, that it is the hardest but most rewarding job.  It is also difficult to let them grow up and be their own person, as we still think of them as our "babies" and want to keep them there...sigh.  Such an honest and beautiful write of your daughter and your love for her.  xo  I think you have a great relationship for life.  ;)

Thanks very much for your very kind words Cherie, as parents I'm sure we all have doubt, and we do still wish they were our babies Haha, I suppose they still are no matter how grown up they are, thanks again poetic sister! ✌💜😊

Hey WAYNE!!...I feel much the same way as Cherie here...... without the Awwww!!...... smiles.... but I find that this works so beautifully because of the repetition you deliver with the stanza that sings and leaps from the page almost musically!! ~
