The Basement

I sent out to the world a huge SOS
It’s a sign I need help, my basement’s a mess.
I called the like minded who helped me clean
As work  began, transformation is seen

I began removing my guilt, blame and shame
Once the huge mess was gone, there was nothing the same
The guilt was replaced with forgiveness and love
The lights once turned off, now shone brightly above

Defense and Anger were then swept out the door
A warm rug of compassion, laid upon my clean floor
I got rid of my judgment removed my old masks
So grateful to others for their help with these tasks

Fear of punishment no longer lies in wait
Soon false beliefs began to abate
Sadness no longer within my innocent child
I call her in and we played for awhile

I  go back outside and see others with their own SOS
I say no problem my friend, its just your basement's a mess.
